Hanoi/Xinhua: Vietnam recorded 12 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday morning, bringing the total confirmed cases in the country to 558, according to its Ministry of Health.

The new cases, aged between two and 78, are all community cases with epidemiological history related to the central city of Da Nang, the country's epicenter at the moment, the health ministry said.

Vietnam has seen a number of new community infections since July 25, many of which are reportedly related to hospitals in Da Nang with the source of transmission yet to be confirmed, and a daily high of 82 new cases and the first two deaths were reported on Friday.

A total of 373 patients have recovered from COVID-19 while there are nearly 91,500 people being quarantined and monitored in Vietnam as of Saturday morning, according to the health ministry.
