With decline in Covid cases, Delhi sees increased vacant hospital beds

New Delhi/IBNS: The delining rate of Covid-19 cases in Delhi have resulted in an increase in vacant beds and Intensive Care Units (ICUs) in the national capital.

On Tuesday, Delhi had 12,907 vacant beds while 14,805 were occupied.

In a sign of respite, the national capital on Tuesday reported 4,482 Covid-19 cases, the lowest single-day rise since April 5, and 265 fatalities.

The positivity rate of cases has also dipped to 6.89 per cent, according to the latest health bulletin released by the Delhi government.

Covid facilities created by both Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) facilities created at the peak of the second wave presently have almost fifty per cent vacancy, said reports.

On Tuesday, Delhi's recovery rate was 94.37 per cent.

As many as 9,403 patients recovered in the last 24 hours. The active caseload of the city now stands at 50,863.
