Toronto/IBNS: Air Canada on Monday released its list of the Top 10 Best New Restaurants in Canada for 2025, awarding first place to Mystic in Halifax.

The recognition was announced at an event in Toronto, where chefs and restaurant teams from across the country gathered to receive awards and present dishes from their menus.

Mystic, led by Chef Malcolm Campbell, was followed by Montreal’s Le Violon in second place. Toronto’s aKin ranked third.

“This year’s winners remind us of the bold creativity shaping the Canadian culinary scene today,” said Andy Shibata, Vice President, Brand at Air Canada.

“Whether it is the reinvention of Canadian classics or a chef pouring their heart into an omakase experience, each restaurant reflects its community in a different way."

Rounding out the Top 10 are Sushi Hyun Omakase in Vancouver; Maven in Toronto; Nero Tondo in Vancouver; Yan Dining Room in Toronto; Sumibiyaki Arashi in Vancouver; Pasta Pooks in Montreal; and Niwa in Vancouver.

American Express, a national partner for the programme, sponsored the annual event.

“Our collaboration with Air Canada continues to champion the creativity and innovation that define Canada’s culinary landscape,” said Kim Kuzmak, Vice President of Lifestyle Benefits, Partnerships and Brand at American Express Canada.
