British Council's 'Science and Beyond' series brings varied UK science speakers to Kolkata

Kolkata, Jan 4 (IBNS): The British Council and Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER Pune) will be hosting 'Science and Beyond - a lecture series' in Kolkata.

It will bring writers, scholars and historians of science from the UK to Kolkata.

The series, under British Council’s Internationalising Higher Education (IHE) initiative, is being presented in Kolkata in partnership with a range of prestigious higher education institutes, including Indian Institute of Engineering, Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur, Birla Industrial and Technological Museum(BITM), S.N.Bose Institute, Salt Lake, Jadavpur University, National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), Presidency University and Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Kolkata.

Sujata Sen, Director East India, British Council, said,“We are delighted to partner with IISER Pune and our local institutions to bring this seriesto Kolkata. We hope these discussions around science will prove interesting and exciting. We hope this will also improve faculty mobility and interface with Indian universities to promote internationalisation of higher education in India.The series is a step towards making relations between UK and India stronger.”
