iLEAD hosts workshop on faculty development

Kolkata, Apr 2 (IBNS): Institute of Leadership, Entrepreneurship & Development (iLEAD) recently conducted a two-day workshop on 'Faculty Development', with Ashley Braganza, Professor, Brunel University, UK and Melvin N Johnson, Professor, Tennessee State University, USA, here,
The workshop was organized with a view to create a unique 360 degree learning platform for the participants and provide an opportunity to interact with the two global academic leaders. 
 
Addressing the workshop, attended mainly by faculties, the two professors focused on 'Teaching & Institutional Objectives', 'Models of Curriculum Design' and 'Assessment' and also laid stress on higher education. 
 
iLEAD Chairman Pradip Chopra also addressed the gathering.
 
The purpose of the event was to provide faculties with the latest thoughts about teaching and learning methods so that they are retained and applied in the classrooms.  
 
Students from various international Universities discussed about their expectations from professional courses and their learning needs. 
 
The program was conducted with the objective to understand teaching and learning design principles at the level of aprogramme, module and class and apply those principles to the challenges faced in day-to-day teaching.
 
Speaking at the occasion, Ashley Braganza and Melvin Johnson said, "It was a prestigious opportunity for me to have an everlasting experience at an esteemed institution like iLEAD. The Faculty Development Program is a critical factor towards building the strong foundation of an educational system to ensure quality education."
 
Pradip Chopra said, "It is a matter of great pride and joy for us that such eminent personalities are here at iLEAD. It was a great learning experience for my students and I am happy that my students got an opportunity to interact with them."
 
He added, "I hope that my students have taken back a lot of valuable inputs and will incorporate them in their professional lives."
