Leadership Development Programme

Leadership development programme for heads of school in West Bengal

Kolkata/IBNS: Prof. Uttam Kumar Sarkar, Director of IIM Calcutta, recently inaugurated a training programme which is part of an initiative by the School Education Department of West Bengal government.

Called ‘Leadership Development Programme’, it is a collaborative project between Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta) and Paschim Banga Samagra Shiksha Mission (PBSSM).

Participants include heads of government and government-aided schools in the state.

Present on the occasion were the state education minister Bratya Basu, Manish Jain, IAS, State Project Director, Paschim Banga Samagra Shiskha Mission (PBSSM) and Subhra Chakrabarti, IAS, among others.

Said Prof. R. Rajesh Babu, joint programme director, “Empowering and motivating the heads of schools to take the lead and be the change agent for their school is the key focus of this leadership development programme.”
