Sonnet hosts Bengali Food festival

Kolkata, Apr 8 (IBNS): Gupi-Bagha’s surprise in legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray classic film, literally reflected in the eyes of the guests present at the Sonnet in Kolkata as the spread was being tabled, oozing Bengali aroma.

The Sonnet, drawing inspiration from the Satyajit Ray film, presented the “ Bhuter Rajar Bhuribhoj”, a traditional Bengali food festival on Tuesday.

The festival aims to make this Poila Boishakh, a festival of worship and foodaholism for Bengalis, memorable. The guests present on the occasion include film director Manoj Michigan, actor Shataf Figar and popular actor Biplab Dasgupta.

Soumen Halder, FNB Manager, The Sonnet, Kolkata, was very positive regarding the opening of the festival.

He said that The Sonnet has carefully researched over its menu for this festival with inputs from its guests. 

The special attraction of this years’ festival is Lau patay bhapa Chingri, a traditional Bengali dish.

Shataf, the Bengali film actor complimented the menu.

The festival that serves delicacies like Sorshe Ilish, Lobongo diye Kosha mangsho, phulko luchi, cholar daal and many more mouth watering Bengali dishes, will be a three-day festival starting from Apr 14 and will end on Apr 16.
