Tech giant Samsung likely to launch unified security and privacy hub with One UI 8

Electronics major Samsung seems to be working on creating a new privacy and security feature that is likely to debut in its upcoming One UI 8 software update.

The feature has been named 'Alert Center'.

The feature, expected to be listed under Settings > Security and privacy alerts in One UI 8, will seemingly give you real-time suggestions and warnings to help keep your personal data and device safe, reported Android Authority.

The news portal reported that the “Alert Center” in One UI 8 will support two types of alerts: Privacy alerts and Security alerts.

As per Android Authority website, Alert Center will notify you when apps access sensitive permissions like location, microphone, camera, contacts, and more, especially when they are accessed in the background or too frequently.

The website said alerts will name specific apps, such as “XYZ accessed your camera” or “ABC accessed your text messages in the background.”

However, the alert will not notify about updates to “Trusted apps”.

The Alert Center reportedly will not stop at privacy alerts.
