Abhijit Gangopadhyay will contest from Tamluk seat.

Naveen Jindal, who joined the BJP earlier in the day, will contest from Kurukshetra.

He had earlier represented the Congress Party in Parliament as MP from Kurukshetra for 10 years.

The saffron brigade, which is looking to return to power for a third straight term, also named actress Kangana Ranaut in its latest list.

Kangana, who often calls herself PM Narendra Modi's fan, will contest from Himachal Pradesh's Mandi.

Himachal Pradesh is Kangana's home state.

Thanking the party for her nomination, she posted on X: "My beloved Bharat and Bhartiya Janta’s own party, Bharatiya Janta party ( BJP) has always had my unconditional support, today the national leadership of BJP has announced me as their Loksabha candidate from my birth place Himachal Pradesh, Mandi (constituency) I abide by the high command’s decision on contesting Loksabha polls. I feel honoured and elated to officially join the party. I look forward to be a worthy karyakarta and a reliable public servant. Thanks."

The party also fielded actor Arun Govil, who is best known for playing Hindu god Lord Ram in Ramayana serial, was fielded from Meerut.

Arun Govil recently portrayed the character of PM Modi in Bollywood release Article 370.

This year's Lok Sabha election will mark the political debut of both actors.

The ruling political outfit, however, dropped Varun Gandhi from the Uttar Pradesh candidate list.

BJP retained his mother Maneka Gandhi from Sultanpur.
