Amid power-struggle, Congress dissolves all district and block committees in Rajasthan

Jaipur/IBNS: Amid the power-struggle within the Rajasthan Congress, the grand old party dissolved all its district and block committees in the state on Wednesday.

Congress general secretary Avinash Pande tweeted, "AICC has decided to dissolve all the District Congress Commities and Block Congress Committees of Rajasthan Pradesh with immediate effect. The process of formation of new committees will begin soon."

This came after the Rajasthan Congress sacked rebel party leader Sachin Pilot from the posts of Deputy Chief Minister and state unit president on Tuesday.

Pilot along with two other party MLAs skipped two meetings chaired by Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

Amid speculations over Pilot's joining in the BJP, Gehlot's former deputy said he was not joining the saffron camp.

Pande earlier had tweeted to say that the Congress' doors were still open for Pilot, who remained the central minister during the Congress-United Progressive Alliance (UPA) regime.
