Amritpal Singh was raising Anandpur Khalsa Fauj to make Khalistan reality: Police

Khanna: Amritpal Singh was raising Anandpur Khalsa Fauj (AKF) to wage an armed struggle for formation of separate Khalistan State, police said on Friday.

Khanna SSP Amneet Kondal said at a press conference that this was revealed by Tejinder Singh Gil @ Gorkha Baba, who was arrested on Wednesday.

Police said he was a close associate of Amritpal and was a member of Close Protection Team (CPT), entrusted with security of Amritpal.

He was also a member of Anandpur Khalsa Fauj (AKF), being raised by Amritpal Singh to wage an armed struggle for formation of separate Khalistan State, police added.

Police said he came in contact with Amritpal through Birkamjit Singh Khalsa, whom he had met at Kisan AndoIan, Delhi.

He went to Jallupur Khera five months back and was inducted as gunman to Amritpal.

According to police, Gorkha Baba was given weapons (marked as A.K.F.) and regular firing practice and military drill was conducted at a firing range in Amritpal's native village.
