Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy and Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) MLA Vellampalli Srinivasa Rao were injured in a stone-pelting incident during the 'Memantha Siddham' bus tour in Vijayawada on Saturday evening, media reports said.

The Chief Minister sustained an injury to his left eyebrow, while MLA Vellampalli suffered injuries to his left eye.

Both leaders received immediate first-aid treatment on the bus.

Despite the attack, CM Jagan continued his journey afterward.

YSRCP sources alleged that the Telugu Desam Party workers were involved in the attack, said media reports.

The party later wrote on its handle, "It was Chandrababu who attacked our leader CM @ysjagan with green goons in Vijayawada. It was a cowardly act of cowardice by all of us @JaiTDP who could not bear the unprecedented popularity of the Saaraya Yatra. Statewide."

Elections for 25 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh are scheduled for May 13.
