Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and Australia is growing steadily, says S Jaishankar after meeting Penny Wong

Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday said the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and Australia is growing steadily.

Jaishankar made the comment after meeting his Australian counterpart Penny Wong in Canberra for the 15th Foreign Ministers’ Framework Dialogue.

Jaishankar wrote on X: "Concluded the 15th India - Australia Foreign Ministers’ Framework Dialogue with FM @SenatorWong in Canberra today. "

"Our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is growing steadily. Reflected in stronger political ties, robust defence & security cooperation, expanded trade, greater mobility and deeper educational linkages," he said.

The Indian Minister said he discussed Indo-Pacific, West Asia, Ukraine and the global strategic scenario during their meeting.

Wong said PM Anthony Albanese-led government is funding six projects under the Australia-India Cyber and Critical Technology Partnership.

"I also announced we will send a First Nations Business Mission to India for the first time next year," she posted on X.

"It will support new commercial partnerships for First Nations businesses looking to engage with India and will promote First Nation businesses to new markets overseas," the Australian Minister posted on X.

She said: "Today, I announced the Albanese Government is funding 6 impressive projects under the Australia-India Cyber and Critical Technology Partnership."

S Jaishankar on Monday inaugurated the Consulate General of India in Brisbane during his ongoing visit to Australia.

Jaishankar is visiting Australia between November 3 and November 7.
