COVID-19 spike: WB Election Commission shifts polling date for four Municipal corporation polls to Feb 12

Kolkata: The West Bengal Election Commission on Saturday deferred polling dates for four municipal corporations to next month amid rising COVID-19 cases in the state.

Polling will now be held on Feb 12.

Polling for Bidhannagar, Asansol, Siliguri and Chandernagore corporations was previously scheduled to be held on Jan 22.

Polling will take place from 7 am to 5 pm.

West Bengal is witnessing a spike in COVID-19 cases in recent weeks.
