Delhi: Burning factory collapses after explosion, several trapped

New Delhi/IBNS: Several people including the firefighters are trapped under the debris of a factory which first caught fire and then collapsed following an explosion in west Delhi's Peera Garhi on Thursday, media reports said.

Thirty-five firefighters are presently at the site.

The explosion took place when the firefighters were trying to rescue people who were trapped in the burning building.

After getting a call at 4:30 am, the fire department had sent seven firefighters to the burning factory.

Rescue operations are underway.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, "V sad to hear this. Am closely monitoring the situation. Fire personnel trying their best. Praying for the safety of those trapped"
