Drugs worth Rs 30 crore seized in Mizoram's Champhai

Aizawl/IBNS: Mizoram police have seized a huge quantity of contraband drugs worth Rs 30 crore in Mizoram's Champhai district.

Based on specific input, Special Narcotics PS (CID Crime) team of Mizoram police on Monday night seized 1 lakh tablets of suspected methamphetamine, weighing 9.602 kg, valued Rs 30 crore in international market, at Vaivakawn, Zohnuai, Sairang Road in Champhai district.

A senior police official said that the contraband drugs were recovered from the possession of Tuanremi (46) of Farkawn in Champhai district.

Further investigation is in progress.
