ED summons 2 sons of Rajasthan Congress leader Govind Singh Dotasra after raiding their premises

Jaipur: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Abhilash and Avinash, the sons of Rajasthan Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra, next week, in relation to the alleged exam paper leak case, media reports said.

On October 26, the ED carried out searches on properties owned by Dotasra and his two sons, eliciting strong criticism from the Congress party.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had described the ED as a “locust swarm that comes from Pakistan and eats our crop. And ED will finish their (BJP) crop. They are using ED like a tiddi dal,” according to an Indian Express report.

In addition to Dotasra, the ED also carried out searches at the properties of Independent MLA Om Prakash Hudla, who is contesting in the Rajasthan Assembly elections on the Congress party's ticket, reported India Express.

Although there was no official statement from the ED, the searches on Dotasra and Hudla were related to the alleged paper leaks of the 2021 Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET).

This was the first time the raids were conducted on the premises of these Congress leaders in the alleged case.

One day after the searches, Dotasra stated that ED officials did not ask him any questions or record his statement, the report said.

He further mentioned that the ED officials did not confiscate any money or discover any illicit documents, it added.

The only items taken were his and his sons' phones, along with the email data stored on a pen drive.

He said the ED came to search his house in connection with the paper leak case but “the search warrant was in the name of my son Avinash Dotasra, who is an Accounts Officer," according to the Indian Express report.

Apart from Dotasra’s Jaipur and Sikar residences and his political office, he said the ED also searched the residence of his two sons who live in the same premises.

He said people keep linking him and his family to Kalam Academy — a coaching institute that was raided by the ED in connection with the paper leaks earlier — but neither he nor his sons nor any of his family members and relatives have any connection with the institute. He added the ED could not find any document or evidence for the same, the report said.
