Exit of anti-India Lord Nazir from UK's House of Lords will hit Sikhs for Justice

London: The House of Lords Conduct Committee’s decision to expel Lord Nazir Ahmed, who retired recently, will affect the anti-India campaigns across the world, especially in Europe and Britain, a news portal has claimed.

The news portal said expelled House of Lords Nazir Ahmed was a vocal supporter of banned outfit Sikh for Justice in the UK.

AsianLite claimed that his expulsion will 'hit' the group.

Expulsion of Lord Nazir:

Pakistani-origin Lord Nazir Ahmed, who in 1998 made history by becoming the first Muslim to be appointed a peer in Britain's House of Lords, has recently retired from Parliament after seeing a conduct report which has recommended his expulsion for sexually exploiting a vulnerable woman several decades ago.

The victim was identified as Tahira Zaman from Kashmir.

"Lord Ahmed resigned from the House of Lords on 14 November but the report, which was agreed by the Committee and seen by Lord Ahmed before that date, recommends that he should have been expelled," read an official statement.

Sikhs for Justice:

The Indian government earlier banned Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) for a period of 5 years.

SFJ was formed with Avtar Singh Pannun as its president and Gurpatwant Singh Pannun as its legal advisor.

The SFJ pushes for Sikh Referendum 2020 as part of its separatist agenda.
