Four of family commit suicide in UP's Barabanki

Barabanki/UNI: Four members of a family committed suicide in the city Kotwali area of this Uttar Pradesh district on Tuesday.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr Arvind Chaturvedi here said that the bodies of four members of a family, hailing from Ballia, who were living in a rented accommodation in the Aawas Vikas Colony in the Kotwali city area were found hanging. The deceased include a couple and their two children.

He said that Ballia resident Lalit Kishore Gaud (40) was living with his family in the Aawas Vikas house on rent. After working at several places, he had opened a firm making LED bulbs. His body was found hanging along with other members of his family, this morning.

Upon receiving information, police reached the spot. The deceased have been identified as Lalit Kishore Gaud, his wife Preeti (35), two sons Prem (12) and Arpit (8).

The SP said that in a suicide note left behind by Lalit, he has mentioned property dispute within the family. He was involved in a property dispute with his brother residing in the Mau district.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem.

Further investigation is underway.
