Gina Raimondo, Piyush Goyal discuss shared interest in maximizing progress on IPEF

New Delhi: US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, India’s Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal recently discussed the shared interest in maximizing progress on the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF).

The meeting between the two leaders was held virtually on Monday.

" Today, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo met virtually with Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal," read a statement issued by the US Department of Commerce.

"The two discussed our shared interest in maximizing progress on the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) as negotiators continue working towards achieving ambitious and high-standard outcomes ahead of the May round of negotiations, which will take place in Singapore," read the statement.

Secretary Raimondo thanked Minister Goyal and the Government of India for its ongoing contributions and strong support for IPEF.
