Himachal Pradesh: Woman dies after slipping into Markanda river

Shimla: A woman died due to slipping and falling into the Markanda river near Kala Amb, an industrial area in Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh last evening, a police officer said on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as 48-year-old Sushma, wife of Indra Singh, a resident of Moginand of Kala Amb.

The post-mortem of the dead woman's body was done today.

On the other hand, the police have registered a case in connection with the incident and have taken further action.

According to reports, the woman was crossing the swollen river.

During this, suddenly the woman's foot slipped from a slippery rock due to which she went uncontrollably and fell down into the river.

When the local people saw the woman lying in the river, they immediately pulled out of the river.

She was immediately taken to the Medical College in an ambulance, where doctors declared her brought dead during treatment.
