Jammu: Police arrests ‘tantrik’ for attempting to rape teacher

Jammu: Police on Sunday arrested one ‘tantrik’ for allegedly attempting rape on a teacher in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.

SSP Samba Benam Tosh said a team led by Additional SP Surinder Choudhary, arrested a ‘Tantrik’ for attempting to commit rape on a private school teacher.

The accused was identified as Pawan Kumar of Dabuj Kaka, tehsil Ramgarh, district Samba.

“Upon the written complaint of a private school teacher, a case was registered and investigation is going on,” said the officer.

He added that police is seriously dealing with crime against women and all accused, against whom complaints of molestation, attempt to rape and rape are proved after thorough investigation, will be arrested under law.
