New Delhi/UNI: The Kerala Press Club in Delhi on Saturday condemned the Delhi police lathicharge on journalists covering the protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act.

In a statement issued here, the Kerala Press Club said that two members of the Kerala Press Club Delhi fraternity, Arun Shankar and Vaisakh Jayapalan of Mathrubhumi News are among those injured in the action by the police on Friday.

''We strongly condemn the brutality of the Delhi Police unleashed at the journalists last evening. Two members of the Kerala Press Club Delhi fraternity, Arun Shankar and Vaisakh Jayapalan of Mathrubhumi News are among those injured in the reckless action by the police.

Their camera was snatched away by the police. It was done with the sole purpose of suppressing the truth about their attack on the protesters at Delhi Gate because such were the visuals captured on camera,'' the Kerala Press club said.

''Requesting all to join in strongly condemning the police brutality and the insensitiveness of the Government. We condemn the police brutality and the insensitiveness of the Government ,'' it said.
