Kolkata: Fire breaks out at residential building in Bhawanipore

Kolkata/IBNS: A massive fire broke out at a high-rise building at Bhawanipore area in south Kolkata on Monday.

Fire tenders have rushed to the spot and are currently engaged in bringing the flames under control.

The building has 16 floors, reports said.

No casualty has been reported so far.

The cause of the fire is still not known.

"We are currently trying to bring the flames under control," a fire official present at the spot told reporters.

More details are awaited.

The incident occurred at a time when Kolkata, along with the rest of the country, is under a 21-day lockdown to fight the COVID 19 outbreak.
