Modi doesn't behave like Prime Minister: Rahul Gandhi on 'Tubelight' jibe

| @indiablooms | Feb 07, 2020, at 09:01 pm

New Delhi/IBNS: Responding to Narendra Modi's 'tubelight' jibe at him, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday said the Prime Minister does not know how to behave holding such high stature.

"Normally, a prime minister has a particular status, a prime minister has a particular way of behaving, a particular stature, our prime minister doesn't have these. He does not behave in a prime ministerial way," he told reporters outside Parliament on Friday.

Rahul also slammed the PM for avoiding the issue of employment to the youth.

Outside Parliament, Gandhi told the media: "We were not allowed to speak. When I wanted to ask something, Health Minister was saying something else."

"The Prime Minister gave a long speech yesterday. He spoke about Jawaharlal Nehru, Pakistan, Congress but was unable to answer on what he is doing to give jobs to the youngsters who want employment," he added.

Reiterating his words in a tweet, Gandhi later said, "The orchestrated ruckus in Parliament today was designed to prevent me from questioning the Govt. The youth can clearly see that the PM has no clue about how to tackle the unemployment crisis. To protect him, the BJP will keep disrupting Parliament, preventing debate."

How Modi responded to Gandhi's 'danda' remark

Responding to Gandhi's remark, Prime Minister Modi during his long address to Lok Sabha on Thursday said he will make his back stronger by doing more "Surya Namaskar".

The Prime Minister wittily said, "I heard an Opposition MP saying- we will beat Modi with sticks in 6 months. I have also decided to do more Surya Namaskar. This will make my back even stronger to face abuses. In any case, I have been abused so much for the last two decades, their negativity hardly matters."

As Rahul appeared to say something, the Prime Minister said: "I have been speaking for 30-40 minutes but it took this long for the current to reach. Bahut se tubelight aise hi hotey hai (many tubelights are like this).
