Johannesburg/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni, the two global leaders whose bonhomie always goes viral, on Saturday met on the sidelines of the G20 Summit which is currently underway in South Africa.

In a video, the two leaders were seen shaking hands and talking until both broke into laughter.

Modi had last met Meloni on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Canada's Kananaskis last June.

The videos not just went viral but also Meloni's remark where the Italian PM said she was trying to be like Modi.

In what could be heard in the viral video, Meloni told Modi, "You are the best, I am trying to be as you (like you)."

During the 2024 G7 Summit, Modi's selfie moment with Meloni had gone viral as the two global leaders acknowledged the term "Melodi" which went viral on social media.

The viral picture was almost a deja vu moment for the two global leaders whose selfie at the COP28 Climate Summit in Dubai had turned out to be popular.
