Bengaluru/IBNS: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has detained two accused from West Bengal in connection with the blast that took place at Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru, media reports said.

The suspects are Abdul Mateen Taha and Musavir Hussain Sazib. The NIA has identified Taha as the mastermind and Sazib as the key accused.

Issuing a statement, the West Bengal Police said, "Two suspects in the Rameshwaram Cafe blast case have been arrested from East Medinipur in a joint operation by the West Bengal Police and the Central intelligence agencies.

"West Bengal has never been a safe haven for terrorists and the state police will continue to remain ever-vigilant in keeping its people safe from nefarious activities: WBP."

The NIA last month arrested Chikkamagaluru resident Muzammil Shareef, who had reportedly supplied logistics to the main accused.

Nine people were injured in a bomb explosion that rocked a popular Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru's Kundalahalli on March 1.

The blast was caught on CCTV. The police are trying to find out those responsible behind the IED explosion at The Rameshwaram Cafe.

The police have filed an FIR under the anti-terror law Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Explosive Substances Act.
