Nitish announces NDA seat-sharing, JD(U) gets 122, BJP gets 121 seats

Patna/UNI: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday announced seat-sharing among constituents of NDA for ongoing Bihar Assembly Elections making it clear that JD(U) got 122 and BJP got 121 seats while both the parties would allot seats from their own quota to HAM and VIP respectively.

Chief Minister Kumar while making an announcement on seat-sharing among constituents of NDA in presence of leaders of his party and senior BJP leaders, said that decision on the issue was taken smoothly after consultation but the formal declaration was being made on Tuesday.

As per seat sharing, JD(U) got 122 seats and would allot 7 seats from its quota to HAM while BJP got 121 seats and it would spare some seats for VIP with which negotiation of BJP leaders was on, he added.

Chief Minister said that Alliance of his party with BJP was in existence since long and had been working together.

It had no meaning for him what others had been saying in recent past, he remarked while making an oblique reference to LJP president Chirag Paswan who had said that his party would not accept the leadership of Kumar in Bihar

Kumar said that he had a good relation with Union Minister and founder president of LJP Ram Vilas Paswan.

As per seat-sharing announced in last Lok Sabha election, JD(U) had supported the candidature of Paswan which made him possible to become Rajya Sabha member, he said adding that LJP had only two members in Bihar assembly and Paswan would not have reached Rajya Sabha had his party not supported him.

Chief Minister said that he and Prime Minister Narendra Modi besides other BJP leaders had actively campaigned for LJP in last Lok Sabha elections.

It was surprising that same LJP leader was making such statements against JD(U), he pointed out.
