NSA Ajit Doval, his American counterpart Jake Sullivan discuss importance of continuing cooperation in Indo-Pacific region
New Delhi: National Security Adviser Ajit Doval on Wednesday held a telephonic conversation with his American counterpart Jake Sullivan when both the leaders highlighted the importance of continuing close cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.
"National Security Advisor Sullivan spoke by phone today with Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. Mr. Sullivan reaffirmed President Biden’s commitment to a strong and enduring U.S.-India strategic partnership based on our shared commitment to democracy," the White House said in a statement.
"They discussed the importance of continuing close cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region, promoting regional security, and renewing efforts to collaborate on global challenges, including COVID-19 and climate change," read the statement.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that NSA Sullivan stated the U.S. was looking forward to working together on the bilateral agenda and the common global challenges.
"The two NSAs agreed to work closely to further advance India-U.S. relations, which are built on shared values and common strategic and security interests. They highlighted the need to work collectively to address challenges in the post-Covid era and further expand the Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership,"read the statement.
