One killed, six injured as wall collapses in Himachal Pradesh

Shimla, Aug 18 (UNI) One person was killed and six others injured when a retaining wall collapsed on them in Cemetery area of Sanjouli outskirts here, police informed on Sunday.

Additional Superintendent of police Parveer Thakur said in a statement that under police station Dhalli, a retaining wall fell on seven labourers who were sleeping in a building.

The incident happened at 0430 hrs.

On getting information, police immediately rushed to the spot and victims were taken to IGMC hospital, Shimla, where one Shah Alam was declared dead.

The injured were identified as Yamdee Saleem Madil, Sameer, Mazhar Alam, Samsheer, Mohamad Saheb and Ashique Alam, residents of Kashganj area of Bihar, the statement said.

A case has been registered and further probe is on, police added.
