Indian Army on Monday celebrated the victory of 1971 war against Pakistan as ‘Vijay Diwas’ while tributes were also paid to the martyred soldiers.

On this day, Indian Army also forced Pakistan General Niyazi to surrender with 93,000 troops.

'Our troops are alert and maintaining vigil along the borders and we have successfully foiled all cross border attempts of infiltration as well,' he added.

Meanwhile, 'Vijay Diwas' was commemorated at Balidan Stambh this morning by Tiger Division in which a grand and solemn wreath laying ceremony was conducted with full military honours.

Major General Sharad Kapur, General Officer Commanding of Tiger Division laid floral wreaths at 'Balidan Stambh' and 'Tiger War Memorial'.

The sounding of the 'Last Post' on bugles revived proud memories of the supreme sacrifice of our gallant soldiers, who valiantly fought to safeguard the integrity and unity of our country.
