Revival of Assam Flying Club to take place soon

Guwahati: The Assam Flying Club Society was established during the weekly cabinet meeting on Wednesday as a part of efforts to revive the Assam Flying Club.

Speaking to the press in Guwahati, state cabinet minister Jayanta Mallabaruah said, "For the benefit of aspiring commercial pilots of the state, the Assam Cabinet today approved the revival of Assam Flying Club via the constitution of Assam Flying Club Society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860."

Assam Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will chair the society.

"The Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs will be the Vice-Chairman of the society. Advocate General, senior-most Secretary of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department, senior-most Secretary of the State Finance Department, one management expert, one aviation expert, and one administrative expert will serve as the members of the society," the minister informed.

Minister Mallabaruah further stated that the Sports and Youth Welfare Department Director will serve as the Member Secretary.
