Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on the sidelines of the QUAD foreign minister's meeting in Washignton when they discussed bilateral partnership between the two nations.

"A pleasure meeting US @SecRubio  this afternoon, on the sidelines of Quad Foreign Ministers’ meeting," S Jaishankar wrote on X.

He further said: "Discussed our bilateral partnership including trade, security, critical technologies, connectivity, energy and mobility."

Jaishankar said they shared regional and global developments.

He also met Australian FM Penny Wong on the sidelines of the QUAD Summit.

"Our discussions were reflective of the trust and comfort of our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership," Jaishankar said on meeting the Australian leader.

Meanwhile, the QUAD foreign ministers on Tuesday condemned the terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam town on April 22, which left 26 people, mostly tourists, killed.

The foreign ministers called for the perpetrators, organisers, and financiers of the terror act to be brought to justice without any delay.

In a joint statement issued after the meeting in Washington DC, the foreign ministers said: "The Quad unequivocally condemns all acts of terrorism and violent extremism in all its forms and manifestations, including cross-border terrorism, and renews our commitment to counterterrorism cooperation."

"We condemn in the strongest terms the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on April 22, 2025, which claimed the lives of 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen, while injuring several others," the statement said.
