Samagra Shiksha may launch talent hunt in J&K

Jammu/UNI: With an aim to tap the hidden talent of Jammu and Kashmir, Samagra Shiksha may soon launch a talent hunt in the Union territory.

Project Director Samagra Shiksha, J&K, Dr Arun Manhas, speaking at the closing ceremony of three day UT level Kala Utsav 2020 here, emphasized the need to promote Art Integrated Learning at the institutional level.

Dr Manhas, while highlighting the significance of art in the present era, stressed on launching a comprehensive talent hunt so that the talent of the nation doesn’t go unattended.

He also praised the efforts of Teachers for their tireless work in making Kala Utsav-2020 a grand success.

Director, School Education , Jammu, Anuradha Gupta who was the chief guest during the event, stressed the need to develop the potential of students in the field of art and culture at the institutional level.

Gupta said that Kala Utsav aims to promote art by nurturing and showcasing artistic talent of the students.

“Such programmes provide a platform for our budding youth to judge their aptitude in comparison with the students of other parts of the country,” added the Director.

At the end of the programme, awards were distributed among participants and winning students in nine art forms viz Vocal Music- Classical, Instrumental Music- Classical, Vocal Music- Traditional Folk, Instrumental Music- Traditional Folk, Dance-Classical, Dance-Folk, Visual Art-2D, Visual Art-3D, besides the Indigenous Toy making and games.
