Six killed, 11 injured as pickup truck fell into deep gorge in Mizoram’s Khawzawl

Guwahati: At least six people, including four women, were killed and 11 others were injured when a pickup truck fell into a deep gorge in Mizoram’s Khawzawl district.

They were travelling in the truck.

A top official of Khawzawl district said the incident took place at Rubung village area – about 180 k from Mizoram’s capital city Aizawl.

The official said the incident occurred on Monday when the victims were heading from their village Aiduzawl towards Rabung to attend a funeral.

“The vehicle met with an accident and fell into a deep gorge. Six people including four women were killed in the incident,” the official said.

The injured persons were rushed to nearby hospital.
