Sonia Gandhi voices concern on mistreatment of health workers

New Delhi/UNI: Indian National Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday said that the party is to ready play its role in battling the crisis caused by the outbreak of Coronavirus in the country.

In a video message to the people of the country, the Congress president voiced concern on the various incidents of mistreatment of health workers and sanitation workers, who have been in the forefront of the fight against Coronavirus.

'Today, when the country is fighting this massive battle against COVID-19, every worker of the Congress party us ready to ready for any kind of help to the people fighting against this pandemic.

"I want to assure you that whether in power or in the opposition, congress workers are right behind you in this battle," Gandhi said.

Voicing concern on the various incidents of mistreatment of health workers and sanitation workers, who have been in the forefront of the fight against Coronavirus, Mrs Gandhi said, 'our various Corona warriors are working day and night to fight this virus despite a shortage of personal protective equipment. Our doctors, health workers and social organizations are doing treatment of patients despite shortage of PPE. Policemen and soldiers are ensuring enforcement of lockdown.

Sanitation workers are working to ensure cleanliness despite shortage of resources. Government officials are also working to ensure basic services to the people during this crisis. However, without our support , their fight against COVID-19 will get weakened. There have been reports of mistreatment against doctors is some parts of the country. This us wrong. We need to support efforts of these people '
