Stalin claims to win all 21 corporations as Tamil Nadu urban local body polls underway

Chennai/IBNS: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has claimed his party DMK and its allies will win all 21 urban local bodies where elections are underway on Saturday, media reports said.

Casting his vote along with his wife Durga Stalin in Chennai, the DMK chief told the media, "We are giving good governance not only to those who vote for us but to all. As per our information, our alliance will win all 21 corporations."

The urban local body polls are being held after a gap of 10 years.

Voting began at 7 am and will end at 6 pm.

The main fight in the polls is between the ruling DMK and the opposition AIADMK with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) in the fray.

Stalin became the Chief Minister last year after the DMK uninstalled the AIADMK government in the state.
