Guwahati/IBNS: Three men of Manipur’s Senapati district have been fined for travelling with fake COVID-19 negative reports.

According to an official order issued by Senapati district Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Mahesh Chaudhari on Friday, the youths were identified as 33-year-old David D, 34-year-old Hriivei and 29-year-old H Daliinii Chao of Senapati district, who have travelled from Senapati to Dimapur and returned back on May 27 and 28 by using COVID-19 negative report.

“Upon investigation and verification by the Surveillance team at Mao Gate, it was revealed that, David D, Hriivei and H Daliinii Chao had travelled with fake COVID-19 negative reports using a non-existent Medical officer name in the district. Such an irresponsible act impacts the moral of Medical and police teams working with hard 24x7 and also efforts of the District Task Force in current pandemic situation,” said in the order.

A fine of Rs 2000 imposed each on David D, Hriivei and H Daliinii Chao as a penalty for violation of guidelines under ‘Manipur Epidemic Diseases (Enforcement of Covid-19 Guidelines) Reggulation, 2020 and “they must execute a bond, with sureties for their good behavior for a period of 6 months under Section 110 of Cr.P.C., 1973 before the Executive Magistrate,” said in the order.

Earlier last month, a 21-year-old woman of Manipur’s Thoubal district was fined for travelling with a fake COVID-19 negative report.
