Three suspects taken into custody in Uttar Pradesh

Bahraich/UNI: Three suspects, hailing from Kashmir, were taken into custody by the police in this district of the Devipatan division of eastern Uttar Pradesh, close to the Nepal border.

Deputy Inspector General of Devipatan zone, Rakesh Singh on Thursday said that a patrolling team of the police questioned three youths from Kashmir in a roadways bus in the Payagpur area, late Wednesday night.

He said that owing to their suspected activities, they were taken to the police station for further interrogation. The trio was on their way to Gonda from the Digiha 'chauraha' of Bahraich.

The youths have identified themselves as Liyaqat Husain (20), Mohammad Iqbal (35) and Liyaqat Husain (22). The youths told the police that they had come to ask for donation and help for a 'madrassa.'

Dr Singh said that all three belong to the Hadibuda area of the Poonch district of Kashmir.

Police are trying to confirm the information which has been received about the youths.
