Trumps leave for Agra after 'Namaste Trump' event in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad/UNI: US President Donald Trump and the First Lady Melania Trump left for Agra after attending the 'Namaste Trump' event here.

They will be paying a visit to the Taj Mahal and reach New Delhi in the evening.

President Trump and Prime Minister Modi addressed the mammoth gathering which cheered the leaders.

'America loves India, will always be faithful and loyal friend,' Trump said. America loves India, 'America respects India and America will always be a faithful and loyal friend to the Indian people,' he maintained.

Modi said that In the last few years, the new highs that the trust between India and US has reached is historic.

'The core principle of a relationship between two people or countries is trust. Friendship is where trust is unshakable,' he said.

The Trumps were welcomed at the Motera Stadium here by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupnai and Governor Acharya Devvrat.

The US President's two-day visit began with a visit to Sabarmati Ashram here where he paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi.

Festivity was in air as dancers and music troupes were lined up at the tarmac to accord a colourful welcome the US President who is accompanied by his daughter Ivanka, son-in-law Jared Kushner, both senior advisors, and a 12-member high-level official delegation.
