The father and uncle of two accused involved in murder of two minor brothers in Civil Lines area of Badaun district here in Uttar Pradesh have been taken into custody, police sources said here on Wednesday.

Police sources said that on Tuesday evening, Ayush (11) and his brother Ahwaan (6) were killed with a sharp-edged weapon by Sajid and Javed, who run a salon in Baba colony. A brother of the deceased was also injured in the incident, they said.

Police sources said that Sajid was killed in an encounter by the police in a late-night operation, and Javed was still absconding.

"The police have detained accused father Babu and uncle Qayamuddin for quizzing," they said.

Police sources said that the bodies of the two children were cremated at Ganga Ghat in Kachhala after a postmortem.

"The postmortem of slain accused Sajid is being done," they said.

Police sources said that Vinod Kumar, the father of the deceased children, has lodged a case in this regard.

"Vinod has alleged that Sajid, who runs a salon in front of his house, reached his home in the evening and requested a loan of Rs 5,000 from his wife Sangita," they said.

Police sources said that while Sangita went inside the house to bring money, Sajid reached the third floor of the building and stabbed Ayush and Ahwaan.

"When Sangita came out, she found Sajid with a blood-soaked knife and raised the alarm," they said.

Police sources said that Sajid was killed in an encounter with the police in the jungles of Sheikhupura.

"The Station House Officer (SHO) of Civil Lines Gurav Bishnoi also sustained a bullet injury in firing by the accused and was admitted to the hospital," they said.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Alok Priyadarshi said that the last rites of the two children had been performed.

Five teams have been constituted to arrest the second accused, Javed, and he will be nabbed soon, he said.

He said that the situation was under control and the matter was being investigated.

On being asked about the reason behind the double murder, he said that it would become clear only after the arrest of Javed or on the basis of investigation.
