Uttar Pradesh: Siblings die after being hit by bus in Shahjahanpur

Shahjahanpur/UNI: Two minor siblings died after being mowed down by a school bus in Khutar area of Shahjahanpur district here in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, a senior police officer said here.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Ashok Kumar Meena said that the incident took place when Gurmez Singh, a resident of Haripur village, was going to drop his sons Jeetpal (14) and Harmeet Singh (9) to school in the morning.

"Near Rudrapur village Gurmez stopped his vehicle for some work," he said.

He said that while Gurmez's sons were waiting alongside the road the school bus coming from Puwayan hit Jeetpal and Harmeet killing them on the spot.

"The bus driver escaped from the spot. The bodies have been sent for postmortem examination," he said.
