West Bengal: Clash erupts between TMC, BJP workers in Khejuri hours before Suvendu Adhikari's rally

Kolkata/IBNS: Several BJP workers were injured in a clash with Trinamool Congress (TMC) activists at Khejuri in East Medinipur district of West Bengal on Tuesday afternoon, hours before TMC-turned-BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari's rally, reports said.

According to reports, TMC workers allegedly attacked a bike-rally of the BJP, which was going to attend Adhikari's public meeting, at Baratala area under Khejuri Police Station limits, and following the incident.

BJP supporters chased the TMC activists and engaged in a clash with them.

Soon after the clash was reported, a heavy police force, along with Rapid Action Force (RAF), rushed to the scene and brought the situation under control.

BJP leaders said that few of their activists had been admitted to a local hospital.

Meanwhile, denying all allegations, local TMC leaders claimed that their party workers were not involved in the incident and it was just a clash between two factions of the BJP.
