Kolkata/IBNS: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has been carrying out raids at multiple locations across West Bengal since Monday morning in connection with an illegal coal mining case that was unearthed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) recently, sources said.

According to reports, at least 12 premises in Kolkata, Hooghly and West Burdwan districts are being searched by the ED sleuths.

Sources in the Central economic probe agency said that several documents and electronic devices/gadgets had been seized during the raids.

Besides ED, the CBI is currently probing into the recently busted illegal coal mining and international cattle smuggling rackets, and searching for influentials' involvements.
