West Bengal Guv Jagdeep Dhakhar condoles demise of veteran actor Soumitra Chattopadhyay

Kolkata/UNI: West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Sunday expressed his profound grief at the passing away of veteran actor Soumitra Chattopadhyay.

Taking to his twitter handle, Mr Dhankhar said, "Deeply grieved at the passing of veteran actor Soumitra Chattopadhyay. Heartfelt condolences. A void difficult to fill."

" He was first Indian film personality conferred with Ordre des Arts et des Lettres France's highest award for artists; also winner of Dadasaheb Phalke Award," he added.

Chatterjee passed awy in Kolkata's Belle Vue Clinic at 12:15 pm today after fighting multiple-organ failure for nearly a month.
