New Delhi/IBNS: World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus congratulated Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi on his historic term at government formation.

"Congratulations Prime Minister @narendramodi on your reelection. I look forward to continuing @WHO-#India close collaboration for #HealthForAll," the WHO chief posted on X.

Modi responded to the message asserting India's cooperation with WHO to promote "our vision of 'One Earth One Health’".

Thank you my friend Tulsi Bhai ! India's cooperation with WHO promotes our vision of ‘One Earth One Health’. The first WHO Global Centre for Traditional Medicine in India adds to our joint efforts towards #HealthForAll.

Congratulatory messages have been pouring in for Narendra Modi from several world leaders including US President Joe Biden.

French President Emmanuel Macron also congratulated his "dear friend" Narendra Modi on getting a straight term and said he looks forward to "strenghtening the strategic partnership that unites India and France."

Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony is likely to be rescheduled on June 9 instead of June 8 as known earlier, to accommodate various heads of states from other countries, especially India's immediate neighbours, according to media reports quoting sources.

Instead of June 8, the oath-taking ceremony can be held at 6 pm on Sunday as the final schedule is being worked out, said reports.

Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe will be among the foreign leaders to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Modi as the Prime Minister is set for a historic third consecutive term equalling the record of India's first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru.

The premiers of Bhutan, Nepal and Mauritius are also likely to be invited for the swearing-in ceremony.
