Abir Chatterjee, Ritabhari Chakraborty, Koushani Mukherjee team up for Nandita Roy-Shiboprosad Mukherjee's Bohurupi

Kolkata/IBNS: Filmmaking duo Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee have announced a new Bengali film, titled Bohurupi, which is set to be released in Durga Puja.

The cast features Abir Chatterjee, Ritabhari Chakraborty, Koushani Mukherjee and Shiboprosad himself.

Starring the charismatic ensemble of Abir Chatterjee, Ritabhari Chakraborty, Koushani Mukherjee, and Shiboprosad Mukherjee himself, this film promises to bring a real story to life against the backdrop of the years 1998 to 2005.

Shiboprosad revealed, "We started planning for the film in 2011; right after Muktodhara, we wanted to make this film that captures the timeline between 1998 and 2005. Bohurupi is based on a chain of events that took place around that time.

"Through the script, we have tried to chronicle that era. The real characters, who have given their versions, are there and we plan to release a documentary along with the film featuring the real characters."

He shared, "Abir and Ritabhari's magical chemistry in last year's super-hit Fatafati convinced us to reunite them as a jodi."

Grateful for the opportunity, Abir said, "I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Nandita di for entrusting me with two diverse roles this year.

"After Aamar Boss, I'm thrilled to bring a completely different character to life in Bohurupi. It's an extra-special Puja release for me as an actor."

Bohurupi is set to captivate audiences in both Hindi and Bengali, featuring an extensive 40-day shoot across 78 breathtaking locations.

Shiboprosad added, "Curiously, we are shooting in places starting with the letter B, like Baranagar, Bantala, Barrackpore, Bolpur, Beldanga, Bethuadahari. The film will be on a grand scale,” with shooting commencing from March 12.

The film is expected to release in Durga Puja.
