Kolkata, May 17 (IBNS) With the best Bengali film National award winner Sankhachil entering into fifth week, director Goutam Ghosh is happy the partition-themed film has got universal acceptance along both sides of the border.
"It's the fifth week running and the film is going strong in 15 halls in Bangladesh and 22 theatres in Bengal to packed houses," Goutam tells IBNS here.

"Many in Bangladesh are in fact complaining about the film not releasing in their districts through social network and messages to me and our production members. After Moner Manush, this is the second time I am confident about our cinema reaching out to a larger number of Bengali speaking people both for economical and creative reasons," the Padma Nadir Majhi maker says.

The ace director was enrolled as one of the key speakers of The Edutainment Show, and was speaking to IBNS exclusively on the sidelines.

To another question Goutam says, he has plans to take the film to a number of prestigious foreign festivals including Toronto, Locarno and others.

"We are aiming to take Sankhochil to a larger number of world audiences. I hope to accompany Goutamda," film's lead actor and one of the producers Prosenjit Chatterjee says.
