Kolkata, Jan 5 (IBNS): Iconic Pakistani singer Ghulam Ali will perform in Kolkata on Jan 12.
The concert will be held at Park Circus Maidan in the city.

"#Kolkata #Breaking Ghulam Ali and his son to perform in the city on Jan 12 at Park Circus Maidan. Colleagues doing presser at 3.30," TMC Member of Parliament Derek O'Brien tweeted.

"Pete Seeger performed at a peace concert at Park Circus Maidan #kolkata in the early 1960s. The music plays on... 2016 Jan 12 Ghulam Ali," he said.

Gulam Ali's concert was cancelled in Mumbai last year.

It was cancelled following Shiv Sena's opposition.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee last year offered to host the concert in Kolkata.
