Kolkata/IBNS: "Raas is about those subtle, powerful moments that shape our lives," said director Tathagata Mukherjee about his new Bengali film that hit the big screens on June 6.

The story is also written by Tathagata who has appealed to the audience "to take a deep breath and travel back in time - to places, people, and emotions we often leave behind".

The film features Vikram Chatterjee and Devlina Kumar in the lead roles.

The story follows Somnath (played by Vikram Chatterjee), who returns to his ancestral village after 18 years. A simple visit that soon turns into a journey of rediscovery and of love, roots, and the charm of simpler days. Somnath reunites with Rai (played by Devlina Kumar), his childhood love, and reconnects with his family and community during the joyous festival season.

The film captures how festivals bring families together, reminding us of bonds that time and distance may blur, but never break. Raas portrays the contrast between the fast-paced, demanding life in cities and the peaceful, meaningful moments of rural life.
